Whipped Goat Cheese with Rosemary Honey Bacon, Apples, & Dates

An absolute crowd favorite!

Ingredients:

  • 6 slices bacon

  • 1/3 cup honey

  • 1 tsp brown sugar

  • 2 tbsp fresh rosemary, chopped

  • 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper

  • 12 Medjool dates, pitted

  • 1 apple

  • 2 logs (16 oz) creamy goat cheese, room temp

  • 8 oz cream cheese, room temp

  • 1 tbsp olive oil

  • Sea salt

  • French baguette


Step 1

Preheat oven to 400 degrees


Step 2

Cut apple, tear dates, and slice bacon into bite sized pieces


Step 3

In a bowl, combine honey, brown sugar, rosemary, cayenne, and a pinch of salt


Step 4

Add apples, dates, and bacon to a large ziplock bag

Then, pour honey mixture over and mix until coated


Step 5

Scatter onto a baking sheet and bake for 12-15 minutes, or until bacon is crispy


Step 6

Meanwhile, add goat cheese, cream cheese, olive oil, and a pinch of salt to a food processor (or blender) & pulse until smooth


Step 7

Slice baguette and lightly coat with olive oil, add to a baking sheet and bake until warm and slightly crusty


Step 8

Spoon whipped goat cheese onto a platter and spoon the warm apples, dates, & bacon on top


Step 9

Top with extra honey and garnish with fresh rosemary sprigs!


Make ahead: the goat cheese can be made 3 days ahead and kept in the fridge – bring to room temp before serving
