Easy Dried Pineapple Garnish Recipe for Spritzes & Cocktails
There's something about a fun cocktail garnish that makes a drink feel worth the effort.
These pineapple garnishes work on everything from spritzes to tropical cocktails. They're also just a fun project if you have extra pineapple sitting around and want to make your summer drinks look a little more whimsical!
Here's how to make them:
Ingredients:
1 fresh pineapple
Parchment paper
Baking sheet
Paper towels
Muffin tin (optional, for curled edges)
Step 1
Preheat the oven to 200°F.
Step 2
Slice the pineapple into thin rounds, about ⅛ inch thick. The thinner and more even the slices, the better they'll dry.
Step 3
Trim the outer edge of each slice and remove the eyes as best you can. It doesn't need to be perfect!
Step 4
Lay the pineapple rounds on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Use a paper towel to blot both sides of each slice, removing as much moisture as possible.
Step 5
Bake for 1 to 2 hours, flipping halfway through. You're looking for them to feel leathery and dry to the touch, not sticky. Depending on your oven and how thick your slices are, timing may vary slightly.
Step 6
If you want the edges to curl up, carefully place the rounds into a muffin tin while they're still warm and pliable. Let them finish drying in that shape so they hold the curl as they cool.
Step 7
Let them cool completely before using or storing. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week!
How to Use Them
These work on pretty much any tropical or citrus-forward cocktail. We love them on:
Spritzes (especially a pine-Aperol spritz)
Margaritas
Piña coladas
Any mocktails!
