How to Host: Masters Watch Party (with a Menu, Recipes, & Hosting Tips)

If you're going to host a Masters watch party, you might as well lean into the traditions that make the tournament what it is. Augusta National is known for a few things: azaleas in full bloom, pimento cheese sandwiches at the concession stands, and chocolate chip cookies that sell out by noon. We wanted to bring those same flavors to your watch party spread.

This menu is inspired by what you'd find at the course, but we've given it a Hauste spin. Azalea Spritz instead of the classic cocktail, deviled eggs topped with pimento cheese & potato chips, and mini sandwiches cut into perfect rounds with golf tees stuck in the top. It's playful & nostalgic, exactly what a Masters watch party should feel like.

The Menu

Azalea Spritz

The Masters has a signature cocktail (the Azalea) made with vodka, pineapple juice, lemon, and grenadine. It's sweet, pink, and named after the iconic azalea flowers that bloom all over Augusta National during tournament week. We turned it into a spritz by adding prosecco and a splash of club soda to make it lighter and perfect for day drinking.

Recipe:

1 oz vodka

1.5 oz pineapple juice

0.5 oz fresh lemon juice

1 oz grenadine

3 oz Prosecco (or dry sparkling wine)

Splash of club soda

Instructions: Add vodka, pineapple juice, lemon juice, and grenadine to a glass with ice. Top with prosecco and a splash of club soda. Stir and serve.

Hauste Hint: Batch this ahead by mixing the vodka, juices, and grenadine in a pitcher. When guests arrive, just pour over ice and top with prosecco and soda.

Pimento & Potato Chip Deviled Eggs

Pimento cheese is a Masters staple. It's served on white bread at the concession stands and it's famously one of the cheapest menu items at Augusta. We gave deviled eggs a Masters makeover by adding store-bought pimento cheese dip to the mix and crushed potato chips for crunch.

Hauste Hint: Hard boil the eggs a day ahead and store them covered in the fridge!

Mini Pimento & Egg Salad Sandos

These little sandwiches are our favorite part of the spread. They're inspired by the pimento cheese and egg salad sandwiches sold at The Masters, but we made them bite-sized and stuck golf tees in the top because why not?

What You'll Need:

Assembly Instructions:

  1. Use a 2-inch round cookie cutter to cut circles out of white bread. You'll need two circles per sandwich.

  2. Scoop a portion of egg salad on one bread round.

  3. Top with another bread round.

  4. Repeat with pimento cheese.

  5. Stick a golf tee through the center to hold it together.

  6. Arrange on a platter and serve.

Hauste Hint: Make the egg salad the day before your party and kept covered in the fridge. The bread can dry out if you make them too far in advance, so aim for same-day assembly.

Crudités with Ranch

Elevate your crudités by choosing more interesting vegetables and garnishing the ranch with fresh dill.

Veggies we like to serve:

  • Colorful carrots (rainbow or heirloom varieties)

  • Endive

  • Mini cucumbers

  • Snap peas

  • Radishes

Chocolate Chip Cookies

Chocolate chip cookies are a concession stand favorite at Augusta National. We kept ours simple with store-bought, or bake your favorite recipe if you have time.

Hauste Hint: Serve them stacked on a cake stand!

Popcorn

Popcorn is another Masters concession staple, and it's the perfect salty, snackable addition to your spread. We elevated ours by tossing it with Harmony seasoning. It adds flavor without being too fussy.

The Masters only happens once a year, and there's something about it (possibly the spring weather) that makes people want to gather. So lean in! Make the spread, pour the drinks, stick golf tees in your sandwiches, and enjoy one of the best sporting traditions of the year.
