Matcharita

Matcha + Tequila = Matcharita

The Matcharita is our go-to spring hosting cocktail: blanco tequila, St. Germain, fresh lime, and matcha shaken cold and served in a matcha sugar-rimmed glass. Even if you're not a matcha person, you’ll be a matcharita person.

Ingredients:

  • 2 oz blanco tequila

  • 1 oz St. Germain

  • 1 oz lime juice (about half a lime)

  • .5 oz agave

  • 1 teaspoon ceremonial grade matcha powder

  • 1-2 oz Topo Chico

FOR GARNISH:

  • 1 tablespoon ceremonial grade matcha powder

  • 1 tablespoons sugar

  • Lime wedge or round

  • Edible flowers

equipment:

  • Matcha whisk or handheld frother

  • Stirring glass

  • Ice strainer

  • Margarita glass

Step 1

Combine 1 tablespoon ceremonial grade matcha powder and 1 tablespoon sugar in a flat bowl or small plate and mix together. Run a lime wedge around the edge of a margarita glass, then dip the rim into the matcha sugar mixture to coat. Set aside.

Step 2

Add 2 oz blanco tequila, 1 oz St. Germain, 1 oz lime juice (about half a lime), 1 oz agave, and 1 teaspoon of ceremonial grade matcha powder to a cup. Use a handheld frother to fully dissolve the matcha into the liquid until there are no clumps. Add the cocktail to a shaker with ice and shake for 30 seconds.

Step 3

Add fresh ice to your cocktail glass. Strain the cocktail over the ice. Top with Topo Chico or your favorite sparkling water. Garnish with a lime and edible flower!

Cheers!
