Sourdough Discard Chocolate Chip Cookies

If you like giant, fluffy cookies… these are for you!

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup room temp butter

  • ½ cup granulated sugar

  • 1 ½ cups brown sugar

  • ½ cup sourdough discard

  • 2 large eggs

  • 3 tsp vanilla

  • 4 cups AP flour

  • 1 ½ tsp baking soda

  • 1½ tsp baking powder

  • 2 tsp salt

  • 3 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips

Step 1

With a stand mixer or hand mixer, cream butter, sugars, & discard together for 5 minutes. Add eggs & vanilla, mix, then set aside.

Step 2

In a separate mixing bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.

Step 3

Add dry ingredients to the butter mixture, do not over mix! Leave a little bit of dry bits before adding in the chocolate chips. You want everything to be JUST incorporated.

Step 4

Chill in the fridge for 4 hours (or overnight) for an extended ferment.

Step 5

Preheat the oven to 350°F.

Step 6

Scoop out dough & roll into balls before placing on the pan. Bake for 8-10 minutes or until edges are golden brown.
