Sourdough Discard Cheez-Its

Perfect salty snack to make with leftover discard!

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup sourdough discard

  • 4 tbsp melted butter

  • 2 cups finely shredded cheddar cheese

  • Pinch of salt


Step 1

Preheat the oven to 350°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.


Step 2

Add all ingredients to a mixing bowl and mix until well combined.


Step 3

Evenly spread the mixture onto a parchment-lined baking sheet in a thin, even layer.


Step 4

Place the baking sheet in the oven and bake for 10 minutes.


Step 5

Remove from the oven and cut the mixture into squares (I used a pizza cutter). With a chopstick or metal straw, create a small hole in the center of each cracker.


Step 6

Return the crackers to the oven and bake for an additional 20 minutes, or until crisp and golden brown.


Step 7

Let the crackers cool before breaking them apart. If you prefer them warm (I do), you can air fry them at 375°F for about 3 minutes before serving.
